Black Manta traps Aquaman and attaches an electric device to his head, sending continuous shocks into his brain. Manta releases a variation of Scarecrow's fear toxin into Atlantis, turning the citizens against each other. Aquaman pushes through the electrical shock, boards Manta's ship, and engages him in hand-to-hand combat. Manta stabs Aquaman in the chest with a spring-loaded blade and leaves him for dead.
