A mob's "insurance salesmen" try to intimidate Scott Free into hiring them, but Scott and Oberon see through their farce, so they reject them. Later the same night, a dier who also declined the insurance scam is set on fire, obviously caused by the mob salesmen.

The next day, another man of the mob threatens Big Barda, but she ends up frightening him. Oberon calls Justice League International for help, and they send G'nort.

A pair of arsonists try to set Scott's store on fire, G'nort intercepts them. G'nort probes their mind to locate the head man, and he takes Scott there. Inside, G'nort disguises as an insurance salesman (without covering his face) and scares the gangster by doing what he does best: talking incessantly. The mob decides to leave town and end their operations in Bailey.

In the morning, G'nort leaves Bailey, but, unfortunately for Scott, Barda, and Oberon, he says he'll return to visit them.
